What Are The Ingredients For Spinach and Feta Pouches Recipe? The ingredients for Spinach and Feta Pouches are: 1 Package Pillsbury reduced fat Biscuits (makes 8 biscuits)10 oz frozen spinach 1 Egg white 2 Tbs Salsa or Tabbouleh (or if you don't have this on hand, 1/4 cup onion and 2 cloves garlic 2 Tbs Feta Cheese 2 Tbs Lemon Juice, or about 2 lemon wedges worth 1/2 tsp salt or to taste paprika or za'atar for dusting How Do I Make Spinach and Feta Pouches? Here is how you make Spinach and Feta Pouches: Preheat oven to 350 and prepare two cookie sheets with parchment or non-stick spray. If your spinach is not thawed, heat covered in the microwave for about 1-2 minutes. Drain excess water from the spinach by pressing into a colander. If you are using fresh spinach, cook until wilted, about 5 minutes, and then drain and squeeze out water. Add the spinach to a mixing bowl and add the salsa, feta, lemon juice, egg, and salt, mixing to combine. If you don't have salsa, do not fret. Simply chop up 1/4 cup of onion and two cloves of garlic and cook over medium heat until the onions are translucent and sweating, about five minutes. I like the hint of tomato and spice that goes along with salsa and I included tabbouleh as an alternative because parsley goes really well with this. Make sure everything is evenly distributed and set aside.Open up the biscuits according to package directions. One by one, split each biscuit in two and stretch each half to about three times its original size. Lay one half on the prepared baking sheet and put about 2 tablespoons of spinach mix in the center. Make sure there are no holes in the biscuits that spinach can seep out of! Cover with the second half and crimp together with a fork or your fingers. Repeat with the other 7 biscuits. Dust the tops with a bit of paprika or za'atar.Bake for about 15 minutes or until the pouches are golden brown. At about minute 7, rotate the pans for even baking. Remove from oven and enjoy right away, in a few hours, or even a few days. These taste great hot, warm, room temp, and cold.
