What Are The Ingredients For Sabel's Savory Omelet with Greens Recipe? The ingredients for Sabel's Savory Omelet with Greens are: 1 C Red or Green Kale (I happened to have red this time)2 Tbs thinly sliced yellow onion (Maui Maui, or Sweet Yellow will naturally sweeten the dish; or Red will also taste good) 1 Serrano pepper 1 Tbs Olive Oil (good quality cooking olive oil) 1/4 C (3 TBS) liquid egg whites 1/4 C Sargento Reduced Fat Mexican Cheese 1/4 Red Ripe Tomato Favorite Non Stick Cook Spray Sea Salt Cracked Peppercorn (any variety, I had black) How Do I Make Sabel's Savory Omelet with Greens? Here is how you make Sabel's Savory Omelet with Greens: Wash kale and dry with paper towel. Holding stalk side up take fingers and gently push down over leaves--they will basically slide off the stalk.Tear or cut into bite size pieces.Peel onion, cut into fourths. Take one fourth and slice into thin strips.Wash serrano and cut in half; take out seeds and membrane (a spoon works well and you may want to wear gloves as this process will make your fingers burn-and any part of you that you touch! until the heat wears off.)Place olive oil in pan over low-medium heat and add onion and pepper. Saute for a couple of minutes to flavor the oil and somewhat cool the heat of the pepper. Add the kale and cook for about 5 more minutes, or until the kale is at a consistency you desire. I like mine with texture, my husband likes it wilted down (like canned spinach). While the kale is cooking, add your egg whites to another pan coated with non stick cooking spray. Heat should be low-medium and watch carefully as the egg white cooks fast once it starts.Twirl pan to keep the liquid moving to the edges of pan to help it cook. When egg whites start to set add cheese and gently fold over into omelet.Remove both dishes to breakfast plate. Top omelet with tomato and salt and pepper both to taste.Serving Size: Makes 2 1/2 Cup servings vegetable and 1 serving proteinNumber of Servings: 1Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user SUNSHYNECOOKS.What's The Nutritional Info For Sabel's Savory Omelet with Greens? The nutritional information for Sabel's Savory Omelet with Greens is:
