1 envelope dry onion soup mix
2 cups water
1/2 cup white wine
2 envelopes unflavored gelatine
1/4 cup finely sliced green onion
1/2 cup mayonnaise
1/2 cup sour cream
2 teaspoons prepared horseradish or mustard


How Do I Make Czech Jellied Beef?

Here is how you make Czech Jellied Beef:

Put the steak into a baking pan. Add water and wine. Sprinkle with onion soup mix, cover with foil and bake an hour at 350 F. Put meat on a plate to cool. Chill broth and remove fat. Grind cooled meat in a food processer. Place in a 8"x8" square glass dish. Mix in green onion. Add water to the broth to make 31/4 cups. Take out 1/2 cup and sprinkle gelatine on it until it softens..Heat remaining broth to a boil. Stir in softened gelatine until it dissolves. Cool slightly. Pour over meat in dish. Chill for several hours. Mix mayo, sour cream, and horseradish together. Spread over beef, like icing. Serve with crackers or rye bread.
