So I decided to learn how to make it. I've made peanut butter hummus, avocado hummus, red pepper hummus, garlic hummus, pine nut hummus, Italian hummus, black bean hummus and onion hummus just to name a few. I don't want to ramble on, but I reckon you could say I'm the Benjamin Buford Blue of hummus. Some people might say this isn't really hummus because it has other vegetables in it, but I don't care. My wife likes it, she calls it hummus, and that's what she says goes. So here goes.. Hummus for himmus. What you need: ○ Some beans ○ A crock pot. ○ A blender. ○ Olive Oil. Directions○ Put some beans in water overnight. Garbanzo(chick peas) are what most people use. I use whatever I have in the pantry. ○ When you get up in the morning…put them in the crockpot. Make sure there's enough water that it doesn't all get absorbed by the beans. ○ Cook them until they are really soft. I'm not sure how long… I just cook them all day. ○ Throw them in the blender and start blending them up. ○ Throw in the garlic, pepper, garlic and spices. ○ If it quits blending, throw in some lemon juice, or tahini, or olive oil. Put enough in until it starts blending again. ○ When it gets really creamy, taste it. If it taste good to you, you're done. If it doesn't, put in whatever it is that you think would make it taste good. It doesn't matter what you put in it, after all you're the one that's going to eat it. When you're satisfied with it's taste, put it in a container and put it in the refrigerator. That's it. That's my hummus for himmus recipe.
