How Do I Make Plain Scones (Based on Delia's recipe)?

Here is how you make Plain Scones (Based on Delia's recipe):

1) Put the butter into a mixing bowl with the flour and rub the ingredients together between your fingers. It makes a fine fluffy mixture, like breadcrumbs. 2) Add the sugar and give it a little mix up before adding the milk. Mix the milk into the flour/sugar/butter mix until it forms a dough you can roll into a ball. 3) Take the dough out of the bowl, and roll it out so it's as thick as your thumb*3) Cut out rounds with a cookie cutter - mine is actually heart shaped, it doesn't matter too much what shape it is. 4) Place rounds on a baking tray in the oven for 12 minutes, 200 degrees C, Gas Mark 6, 390 degrees F. For a very English Experience, serve with clotted cream and strawberry jam. *Thumb thickness may vary - don't worry too much, this is an easy recipe, so you can try it a few times to get the scones to come out as your household likes them!Serving Size: Makes 12 scones, or 9 bigger ones - depends on your cookie cutter size!Number of Servings: 12Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user QWERTZ21.
