Here is how you make Homemade Black Bean Burgers:

Rinse beans one can of black beans (this will leave about 1.5 cups of beans) and put into a large bowel and mash well with a fork. Add egg, onion, bread crumbs, oregano, basil and garlic and add hot sauce, salt and pepper to taste. Mix well to combine. Shape into 6 patties. Use cooking spray or very small amount of canola or olive oil to fry patties. Cook until golden brown on both sides and cooked through.Transfer to buns, top with lettuce, tomato and onions and serve.
