Here is how you make multi grain dinner rolls:

Combine water, yeast and sugar. Let rest for 5-6 minutes. In large bowl combine water, sugar, salt and shortening, mix until most of shortening is melted. Add 7 cups multi grain flour and mix well, mix in yeast mixture, mix until well absorbed. Continue to add white flour until it is not sticky. Take out of bowl and knead for approx. 10 minutes. Put back in bowl and let stand in warm place for 1 hour. Punch down after the hour, and let sit for another hour. Punch down and put in pans. Makes 50-2 ounce rolls or 24 rolls and 3 loaves.
