Soak beans in cold water overnight. In the morning put them in dutch kettle and bring to a rolling boil, boil until the skins peel back when you blow on them. Drain them and set aside. Cut up a large onion and put into crockpot. Cut up salt pork and put into crockpot. Mix the syrup, molasses and dry mustard in hot water. Put beans in crockpot and pour liquid over top, add water to cover.
