This is a Lebanese side dish that I learned to make from my husband.This is a VERY HEALTHY virtually no fat side dish. There are 15-18 servings in this recipe but with the low amount of calories in this dish you can have more than one serving and not feel guilty at all. :)Serving size 1 cup What Course Is Lubia (green beans)?Lubia (green beans) is for Side Dish. What Are The Ingredients For Lubia (green beans) Recipe?The ingredients for Lubia (green beans) are: 6 cans Cut Green Beans drained (or you may use lg bag frozen cut green beans, though cooking time will take longer)1/2 Large Onion diced 6-8 Cloves Garlic diced 1-2 tbsp Olive Oil 1 14.5oz can Diced Tomatoes Salt Crushed Red Pepper (optional) 1/2 cup water (omit water if using frozen beans) How Do I Make Lubia (green beans)?Here is how you make Lubia (green beans): Heat 1-2 tbsp olive oil in large pot.on med heat. Place diced onion in pot and cook til almost soft, add garlic halfway through cooking onions. (you don't want to burn the garlic) cook onion and garlic until almost to cooked. Add cans of green beans, tomatoes and salt and carefully stir so the onions and garlic are mixed through out the beans. Add water and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 20-30 minutes until beans are hot and onions are soft. Stirring occasionally. Serve and enjoy!I like to eat it cold the next day as leftovers as well. You can eat with pita bread or alone. The nutrition info doesn't include the pita bread.
