Here is how you make Black Beans:

In a small pot heat oil on medium heat.when oil is hot add onion, saute until translucent, about 3-4 min. then add garlic, saute for another 2 minutes. then add beans and cilantro. bring to a boil then turn heat down to low, cover and simmer. the longer you can let it go, the more the flavors mix together. about 30 minutesI did not rinse the beans, i think if you care to do so I would replace with some kind of liquid, stock or water. just enough for the ingredients to simmer in. probably 1/2 cup.
