3 tsp bacon grease

How Do I Make Southern Fried Cabbage?

Here is how you make Southern Fried Cabbage:

Slice cabbage into 1/4's and then slice into strips. Cut onion in 1/2 and into 1/4 inch slivers, dice bell pepper. Mince garlic. Cut bacon into 1/2 inch pieces.Fry bacon until done, place a layer of cabbage, onion, bell pepper & garlic on top of bacon & grease, continue to layer until all veggies are in pan and turn to medium high heat. Cook turning over everything about 6 times. Put lid on skillet and check every 5 minutes until cabbage/onion/garlic/peppers are done. Add in a sprinkle of red pepper flakes and some Lowery's seasoning salt to taste (not very much).
