Here is how you make Brown Gravy:

Chop onion and saute in a little water till soft. Add flour and whisk together, brown over med heat.Mix the 5 1/2 cups of water with 1/2 cup tamari, add to onion mix, whisk together, bring to a boil and then reduce heat, let simmer till thick.I like to transfer to blender to puree onion, then add back to pot and thicken more over heat.Makes about 12 1/2 cup servings.Number of Servings: 12Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user ASHLEIGHGAL.
