Pretzels:
3 cups all purpose flour
1-1/2 tsp active dry yeast
3 T of brown sugar
1 Cup of 90 degree water (barely hot)

Boiling water:
2 Quarts water (8 cups)
1/2 cup baking soda

Pretzel topping:
1 pat of soft butter (can also use water but salt does not stick as well)
2 tsp (or how much/little you like) of coarse salt





How Do I Make Quick Soft Pretzels?

Here is how you make Quick Soft Pretzels:

Mix flour, yeast and brown sugar in mixing bowl. Then add water and mix until the consistency of bread dough (elastic, not sticky but not dry either) Add a tad bit more water or flour to get the consistency right. Then put on a very lightly floured surface (or lightly wetted if your dough is a tad bit dry) and split into 8 equal sized pieces. Take each little piece and start rolling it until it is 18" long. Then braid into pretzel shape. Preheat oven to 425.Boil water and drop each pretzel into the water for 10 to 15 seconds. Pull out with a slotted spoon and drop onto a towel and pat dry. Don't let it sit there or it will stick! After it's patted dry, put on a GREASED cookie sheet. Then bake them at 425 for 8 to 10 minutes until golden brown.
