8 1 1/2 cup servingsheat butter and fry onion until golden. Stir in meat, dried and fresh cilantro, bay leaves, spices (except saffron). Stir until meat is golden. Add salt, saffron, chicken broth and cook 30 minutes. Remove bay leaves. Add rice to the same pot.. Cover, and cook until rice is done, about 20 minutes more.Fry the sliced onions in oil until brown.Stir rice and place on a platter.
