This is a recipe my stepmom taught me when I was young. It does make a lot so if you don't use that much salsa I would maybe cut the recipe in half or just can what will not be used immediately. Also, the longer the salsa sits the more flavor it develops (including hotness), so if it's too hot when you make it originally it will get hotter. You can put all ingredients in a blender or food processor if you like less chunky salsa. What Course Is Salsa?Salsa is for Side Dish, Snack. How Long Does Salsa Recipe Take To Prepare?Salsa takes 20 minutes to prepare. How Long Does Salsa Recipe Take To Cook?Salsa takes several minutes to cook. How Many Servings Does Salsa Recipe Make?Salsa makes 10 servings. What Are The Ingredients For Salsa Recipe? The ingredients for Salsa are: 3 (14.5 oz) cans diced tomatoes2 Anaheim peppers 3 jalapeno peppers 1 bunch cilantro 2 bunches scallions the juice half a lemon salt to taste How Do I Make Salsa? Here is how you make Salsa: Open all three cans and pour out all the juice. Pour all three cans into a large bowl and break up the large chunks with your hands. Remove seeds and veins anaheim peppers and dice and toss in with tomatoes. Depending on how hot you like your salsa you can leave or remove the amount of seeds and veins of the jalapenos that you like. ( I like spicy food and I usually remove the vein and seeds from only 2 jalapenos and leave them in the 3rd, this is mainly so other people eating it will be able to tolerate it.) Dice the jalapeno and toss that in the bowl. Chop off white portion of scallions and discard. Chop remaining amount until about 1 inch from the end where it's softer and sort of wilted feeling. Add all of it to the bowl. You can pick each leaf off the bunch of cilantro to control the amount of flavor you like or thoroughly rinse the bunch and roughly chop the entire bunch except for the larger stems and add everything to the bowl. (This is much easier in winter when the stems are usually smaller.)Juice 1/2 lemon and add that to bowl.Add salt to taste to bowl (I usually use around 1/2 tbsp of kosher salt). Mix all ingredients together and the salsa is ready!Number of Servings: 10Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user JESTES21.What's The Nutritional Info For Salsa? The nutritional information for Salsa is:
