What Are The Ingredients For Walnut 'Slaw Recipe? The ingredients for Walnut 'Slaw are: - 1/2 head of cabbage (any kind, to your own taste preference)- 2-3 medium carrots, in thin slivers (grate or chop, to preference) - 1/2 cup of walnut halves - 1 sliced green apple (optional: omit if coleslaw is to be kept as the apple will brown. I recommend slicing the apple in at the last minute) - around a cup of a good quality light mayonnaise - (optional) a few tablespoons of fat free yoghurt makes the dressing go further, but adds a distinctive yoghurty taste: replace with light mayo if preferred How Do I Make Walnut 'Slaw? Here is how you make Walnut 'Slaw: Slice through cabbage roughly to make thin "coleslaw" slivers, and mix with carrot slivers. My personal preference is to keep the slices quite "chunky" and rustic for this recipe, it takes a little longer but I think it's worth it, but you can easily grate/food process the cabbage and/or carrots if preferred.Mix with the light mayo and yoghurt (if desired) to make the basic coleslaw, then throw in the walnut halves little by little.A favourite addition of mine is slices of green apple, but if you want to keep the coleslaw (and it keeps well - at least three days in the fridge) the as apples brown over night, so should be omitted. My solution to this is make the nutty slaw mix and then just slice in the apple right before serving.Hope you enjoy this recipe!Number of Servings: 8Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user SHOMAC.What's The Nutritional Info For Walnut 'Slaw? The nutritional information for Walnut 'Slaw is:
