rinse chard and leave damp. Strip chard from stems. Coarsely chop. Cook bacon in large skillet until crisp. Remove bacon to plate and let cool. Put chopped onion inot bacon drippings. Cook until soft. Add chard. Cook and turn until wilted. Turn heat down to low and simmer until soft. (You can decide how soft you want it. The longer it cooks, the more it breaks down.) Before serving, crumble cooked bacon. Stir into chard.
