1/3 cup chopped onion

1/2 oz slivered almonds
1 1/2 cup cut green beans

Here is how you make Almond Green Beans:

Cook bacon in a small skillet over medium heat until about half done and some fat has rendered. Add onions, cook until translucent. Add garlic and almonds. Cook and stir about 2 minutes. If garlic starts getting too brown lower heat. Add green beans and stir. Let cook for about 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Carefully pour enough water into the skillet to cover the beans and bring to a boil. Lower heat to a simmer and cook for 5 minutes or until beans are tender. Add salt and pepper to taste. Sliced or chopped almonds can be used as well.The is very good using fresh beans. Frozen or canned may also be used. If using frozen, let thaw and blot dry. If canned, drain well, and add to skillet.
