Pre-heat oven to 450 degrees.Sift dry ingredients. Cut in shortening with fork or pastry cutter. Beat egg and add milk together. Add dry ingredients, mix with a fork. Turn out on floured board and knead 2-3 minutes. Roll out and cut, or make drop biscuits. Place on cookie sheet.
