Mix the Beaten Eggs, Milk, Raisins & Walnuts together and then add to the above mixture. DO NOT OVERMIX!!5. Turn the mixture out onto a well floured surface & knead gently 2 or 3 times until a rough ball is formed.6. Pat out into a 10 inch circle, about 0.5 inch thick.7. Divide circle into 12 Triangles, by cutting dough like a pie or pizza.8. Arrange on greased cookie sheet about 1inch apart.9. Baked 10-12 minutes until lightly browned. For light scones, Do Not Over mix when adding the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients. Fold in very gently until moisture is just absorbed. The original recipe uses Shortening, but my hubby prefers the taste of butter. There is no added salt because my hubby has high blood pressure. If you wish to add salt, the amount is 0.25 teaspoon of salt, which is added to the dry ingredients. The Original recipe also did not have walnuts, but we like nuts in our scones. We will also sometimes add 0.5 Cup of dried cranberries in addition to the raisins and walnuts.Servings: 12 TrianglesNumber of Servings: 12Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user LIMASTAR.
