Here is how you make Hot and Sour Cabbage:

"Place the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat. Cook until crispy and the fat is rendered, about 8 to 10 minutes. Using a slotted spoon, remove the bacon pieces and reserve leaving the grease in the pan. add the onion and saute until translucent, about 4 minutes. Add the cabbage, wine, vinegar, and sugar. Stir to combine. Cover and let cook about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add the salt and pepper. Cook another 10 to 15 minutes, until the cabbage is tender.
