fresh dill weed - 5 sprigs
1 tsp dried dill seed
1 tsp dried dill weed
2 TBS dried diced onion
4 to 5 cups flour

Here is how you make Dill Buns without cottage cheese:

Heat milk butter and sugar to about 105 degrees. Add yeast and let proof a bit. Add salt, egg and dill and onion. Add four and knead til really smooth and silky. Should be tacky, but not stick to your hands. Cover and let rise in a warm place. Punch down, let rise again if desired. When ready cut into 3 oz pieces and shape into buns. Flatten and stretch them a bit. Place on parchment lined baking pans, or use cornmeal on the bottom. (I have done both ways) Let rise about an hour.
