I got a yogurt maker, and opted to use a pre-existing Greek yogurt culture (aka a store-bought yogurt) as a starter for a batch. This recipe tracks the calories of this very simple yogurt! Note: this recipe requires a yogurt maker. There are alternate ways of making yogurt which don't require one; do research if you want to do a non-yogurt-maker version.

Here is how you make Simple Homemade Yogurt:

Clean and dry the jars which come with your yogurt maker thoroughly.In a large mixing bowl with a pour spout, mix your room-temperature Parmalat milk with the whole container of Fage yogurt. This may require the use of a fork to break up clumps and to totally blend the milk and the yogurt together. Do NOT froth the milk! Carefully pour equal amounts into each jar for the yogurt maker (mine had 7 jars, each one holding about 5.47 ounces) and set into yogurt maker as per your maker's directions (mine says to leave the lids of the jars off and to keep from jostling the unit while the yogurt is culturing).Set the timer on your yogurt maker if it has one, or make note of the time if it does not. Return in 9 hours to remove the jars from the unit, put the lids on each jar, and refrigerate.
