Preheat oven 400*F. Grease a large cookie sheet. This mixture can be rolled to 1/2 inch thickness and cutout for smaller portions or can be made into traditional triangular scones.With a pastry blender or two knives cut together the flour, baking powder, steel cut oats, flaxseed meal and salt. Stir in cold butter (precut into small pieces) until mixture looks like crumbs. Add sour cream,orange juice, cranberries and orange peel. Turn until well blended. Mixture should be dry -- if too moist or sticky add flour.If cutting out into shapes roll out on a floured surface with floured rolling pin to 1/2" thick. Cut with floured cookie cutters. Transfer with a cookie spatula to cookie sheet. *Stars are great for Christmas morning and flowers are great for Mother's Day brunch!If cutting into traditional scones separate mixture into two balls. Flatten each ball into an 6"-8" circle.
