Onions, raw, 1 medium (2-1/2" dia)
Anchovy (anchovies), 3 anchovies
Brussels sprouts, cooked, 200 grams
Cabbage, fresh, 1 cup, chopped
Garlic, 1 tsp

If you don't like anchovies, you can substitute a small handful of pancetta or bacon.
If you're not a fan of sprouts you can leave them out and just use cup of cabbage or another preferred vegetable to replace it such as broccoli or cauliflower.
To add a richer flavour, add a teaspoon of low salt beef or vegetable stock powder to the onions as they cook.

Cut the brussel sprouts in half, and slice the cabbage thinly.Put the brussel sprouts in a steamer with the cabbage on top of it. Cook for approx. 5-10 minutes.Whilst the greens cook, slice and saute the onions in the olive oil with the garlic slowly so as to avoid making them too brown. You want them to sweeten up slowly without caramelizing them too much. When they're translucent and a little golden, add three anchovies and allow them to cook in until they all but disappear.
