2 shallots chopped (or 1/2 small onion)
3 cloves of garli1 T olive oil
3 T brown sugar
3-4 T Balsamic Vinegar (to deglaze the pan)
Salt and pepper to taste

Here is how you make Carmailized Brussel Sprouts:

Remove the outermost leaves from the sprouts and trim the stems. then cut them in half (through the stem and to the top of the sprout). Mince your garlic and shallot. Heat a pan with 1 T olive. When hot, add the brussel sprouts to the pan and arrange cut side down. sprinkle the garlic and the shallot over the top. sprinkle the brown sugar over that and let cook on Med heat until browned. toss and cook until stem area is fork tender (Don't over cook! Just like broccoli, if you overcook these they will get mushy) Finally add the balsamic and let reduce and thicken a few minutes.
