What Are The Ingredients For Quick Tasty Squash Recipe?

1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 medium size summer squash
½ tomato diced
3 pats of butter
1 oz of red wine
1 Tbsp of olive oil (I like it rosemary infused…but normal oil is fine…just to keep butter from burning.)
½ Tsp of salt
Pinch of sugar


How Do I Make Quick Tasty Squash?

Here is how you make Quick Tasty Squash:

1.) Cut up your squash how you like to eat it. I slice it and then cut the slices in half, so you get half moons. But I really don’t think it makes a difference.2.) Dice 1/2 tomato with all the seedy stuff inside, you’ll want all of the goo. I do not suggest canned tomatoes. Real ones just taste better!3.) Put one pat of butter in the pan with a tablespoon of oil. The rosemary infused oil adds a little flavor and leaves an awesome aftertaste, so I like that. But the real purpose of the oil is to keep the butter from burning, so it’s up to you.4.) Turn your stove on medium high5.) Put a tablespoon of minced garlic in your pan. If you aren’t a big garlic fan…don’t put so much…if you are a huge garlic fan put more. This is a fun recipe.6.) Throw in your chopped veggies, a ½ teaspoon of salt, with a pinch of sugar sprinkled over the tomatoes. This just takes some of the bitterness out of the tomatoes.7.) Add your one ounce of red wine….cooking wine is fine…but I always prefer the real deal.8.) Let it all simmer for a few minutes until the squash is not totally floppy but tender.9.) The tomatoes and squash produce a lot of water…and you don’t want a dry base for this dish…no sir…you want a little sauce for whatever you put this over! So if you’ve cooked off too much of the water…it’s ok, add some butter, one pat at a time until it’s like you want it. I wouldn’t add more than 2. Butter’s not too great for you.10.) And that’s it!The best thing about this is it can go on anything! On top of a steak would be yummy! I’d put more garlic if I were doing that, maybe add a quarter of an onion. On rice, I might chop my squash a bit smaller. Cut it into quarters in stead of halfs for rice, I think that would be best. I put mine over pasta when I make it. Toss your pasta in it…about 8 ounces cooked is filling…and you have a delicious meal!Note: for on top of chicken or steak less butter is necessary. For rice you can use a little more. Or if you just want to eat some yummy vegetables don’t add too much.275 calories in this dish without any rice or pasta. That’s with 3 pats of butter, I rounded up. Using just the one pat ends up being like 202 calories. So large scale yummy-ness…not too many calories.
