*Original Author suggested using about a tablespoon of syrup, or other sweetener, and add water to it to make 1/4 cup of liquid.

I think any liquid will work considering consistency is slightly thin. Next time I might try whipping the cream the same way most Belgian waffle recipes stiffen the egg whites.

-Melt butter & put in a medium bowl. -Whisk/mix (on low) in the remaining ingredients in the order given, blending well after each addition.-Let stand for 5-10 minutes so that the flour & baking powder absorbs some of the liquid. -Meanwhile preheat & grease waffle iron *I greased mine lightly with bacon grease to increase crispiness*-Slowly pour into waffle iron just enough batter to almost fill the grid. *I poured about 1/4c of batter very slowly into each waffle space & let it rise a little before closing, avoiding spilling over. Otherwise 1/8c to fill bottom of spots & they will just be thin or crepe-like & more servings. I might try center of iron next time*-Bake until golden brown. -Gently remove from the waffle iron. If not using right away:Original Author suggests cooling completely on a rack & freezing them in a single layer before putting them in a plastic bag. -To reheat, warm them in a toaster oven. Serving Size:?4 (5x5 waffle squares) waffles or 1 whole waffle iron of 4 waffles
