Here is how you make Braised Swiss Chard:

Strip the chard leaves from the stems and tear the leaves into bite-size pieces. Cut off and discard the tough bottoms of the stems, then finely mince enough of the remaining stems to measure 1/2 cup. In a fry pan over medium-low heat, cook the bacon. When the bacon is cooked, add the garlic and saut? until lightly browned, about 1 minute (I like to take the bacon out here and chop it). Add the chard, cover the pan and cook, turning occasionally, until the chard leaves just begin to wilt, 2 to 3 minutes. Add the broth, salt and pepper, and cook until the leaves are just tender and the liquid has almost evaporated, 4 to 5 minutes.
