This recipe is loosely based on the chili recipe from caveman keto, heavily adapted to my own personal tastes. I found that the recipe was too high in sugar for my own liking so I reduced the amount of tomato paste to 100g and add a little water to the pot to make up for lost liquid. I also used my own chili seasoning as the brand they use is unavailable in the UK.The recipe lists ground pork but I have made this with ground beef too and it is just as good!

850g ground pork
8 rashers thick-cut bacon
1 medium yellow onion
2 medium red peppers
100g tomato paste
1 can chopped tomatoes, drained
1/2 cup water
salt and pepper to taste

For the spice mixture:
2 Tbsp chili powder (strength to taste, I use medium)
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp dried parsley

Here is how you make Keto chili:

-Finely dice onion and peppers-Brown pork in pan until no red is left. -Chop bacon into small pieces and fry until crispy, then remove from pan (I reserve the grease for use in other recipes)-Put veg, pork, bacon, tomato paste, chopped tomatoes and water into the crockpot and stir well-Add spices into the crockpot and stir again-Season with salt and pepper to tasteCook for 6 hours on low heatServing Size: Serves 6 alone, or 8 as topping for a burgerNumber of Servings: 6Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user CHARLLYSAUR.
