1/2 tsp baking powder (or: 1/4 tsp baking soda and a splash of vinegar, e.g. apple cider)

Optional (but recommended!):
~ 1/2 cup blueberries or similar (not calculated in the recipe's nutritional information, but shown in the photograph)

Stir in baking powder (or stir in baking soda, then a splash of apple cider vinegar).4. At this point you may wish to stir in about half a cup of berries or some chopped nuts. The sky is the limit!5. Cook in your waffle iron, per your iron's instructions.
