1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ground cinnamon
2 tbs ground flax seed, wheat germ, or oat bran
1 cup chopped walnuts or almonds (optional)
1 cup chopped raisins, or 1 cup mixed dried fruit, such as chopped apricots, blueberries, cranberries, and/or cherries

How Do I Make Power Breakfast Bars?

Here is how you make Power Breakfast Bars:

Preheat the oven to 375. Place butter, brown sugar (can use Splenda or fructose), grape juice concentrate, eggs, and vanilla in mixing bowl and beat until well mixed. Place oats, whole wheat flour, baking soda, cinnamon, ground flax seed (can also use wheat germ or oat bran), raisins (can also use mixed dried fruit such as: apricots, blueberries, cranberries and/or cherries) in another mixing bowl (can also include walnuts or almonds) and stir to mix. Add the oat mixture to the butter mixture and stir until thoroughly combined. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Shape heaping tablesoons of the batter into bars that are roughly 2 x 4 inches, arranging them about 1.5 inches apart on the sheet. Bake the bars until the bottoms are brown and the tops are golden brown, about 15 minutes. For crisper bars, reduce the oven temp to 200 and let the bars bake 10 minutes longer. Let the bars cool completely before slinding them off the cookie sheet. The bars can be stored in an airtight container for 3 days at room temperature or frozen for up to a month. Makes 20 1 serving bars. Number of Servings: 20Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user AMY_ENCINGER.
