1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 cup chopped dates
1/2 cup raisins or dried cranberries
1/2 cup chopped walnuts

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F. Grease cookie sheets. Grind oats in the blender until it's a coarse flour.Mash or blend beans to a smooth paste. Stir in brown sugar, vanilla, buttermilk, and beaten egg. In another bowl, combine all the other dry ingredients--oats, baking powder, baking soda, and cinnamon. Stir the dry ingredients into the bean and buttermilk mixture. Stir in the dates, raisins or cranberries, lemon zest, and walnuts.
