2/3 cup(58g) chopped dates
1tsp bicarb of soda
1 tsp vanilla extract
4 tbsp (50g) chocolate chips
3/4 cup ( 8 oz) water

Here is how you make Healthy Fruity Flapjacks:

pre heat oven to 160 'cboil the wateradd the dates, bicarb, vanilla and water to a bowl and leave to soak for 5 mins or until dates are soft.mix together all other ingredients ..thoroughly.Add all the mixed ingredients to the date mixture and mix well.line a square 8-10 inch baking tinpush the mix into the tin. Press down firmly to squash all the mix together.cover the tin with a sheet of brown or grease proof paper to avoid the top burning.Bake for approx 25 mins. Once the mix starts to brown turn heat down to 150 and bake for a further 10 mins.leave to cool.Remove from tin and slice into 32 portions. If you, like me, prefer a less chewy flapjack, place chunks onto a baking tray and cook for a further 5-10 mins to crisp the edges and firm up the mix.The chocolate chips can be replaced with butterscotch or caramel chunks.
