Here is how you make Roger's Classic Bran Muffins:

Mix wheat bran and buttermilk; let stand.Mix oil, egg, sugar, and vanilla and add to buttermilk mixture.Mix flour, baking soda and powder, and salt. Add to first mixture and stir until blended. Add raisins or dates (I like to grate 1/2 an apple into the batter) and spoon into muffin tins.Bake @ 375 for 15-20 mins. (350 works better in my oven for 20 mins). Makes 12 muffins.
