Here is how you make Tea Scones:

Preheat oven to 425.Sift together dry ingredients. Cut in butter til mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add wet ingredients (milk, egg and vanilla), resesrving 1-2 tbsp for brushing tops. Stir together until dough follows fork around bowl.Turn out on floured suface and knead gently about 15 times.Cut dough in half, shape each half into a ball and pat or roll out into a circle about 1/2 inch thick and about 6 inches round. Cut into 8 pie shaped wedges. Place wedges on ungreased baking sheet, not touching. Brush with reserved egg mixture.Bake at 425 for 12 - 15 min. or until golden brown.Makes 16 scones.
