Here is how you make Barley, Lentil and Kale Soup:

Saute onion and carrot in olive oil until carrots are tender. Add garlic and saute 30 second. Add cumin and stir 30 seconds. Add chicken broth and barley. Bring to boil, then simmer about 30 minutes. Add tomatoes and lentils, continue simmering about 30 minutes, or until lentils are tender.
