Heat butter in a heavy skillet over medium heat being careful not to scorch it. Add remaining ingredients except cream, and stir to blend. Saute until corn kernels have started to brown lightly, making sure the kernels don't stick to the bottom of the pan, about 15 minutes. Add the cream and stir to blend.
