1 cup whole fresh cranberries
1/2 cup currants
1 cup plus 2 TBSP sugar
2 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
5 TBSP flour

Here is how you make Thanksgiving Apple Pie:

Make pie crusts.Place one crust in pie plate. Pierce bottom with a fork several times.Position rack in lower third of oven.1. Roughly chop cranberries with sugar and pie spice (you can quickly zap with blender).2. Transfer to large bowl.3. Add apples, currants and flour.4. Toss well.5. Add fruit to prepared pie pan.Top with second crust. I cut out leaves with a cookie cutter and place them to cover the top of the pie.Crimp edges of pie.Place pie on baking sheet.Bake 45 minutes.Cover pie with foil and continue baking until juice bubbles and crust browns, about 35 more minutes.Cool 1 hour.Number of Servings: 12Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user KATEYLOU.
