This recipe was printed on the back of Lundberg Farms CA Brown Basmati Rice. It called for 1/2 t. coriander but we preferred it without. I just used the ground cumin and my DH and myself love it.

2 C. vegetable broth or chix flavored vegetarian broth, water
1 Tbs. butter
1 bay leaf
1 Tbs. vegetable oil
1 C. chopped onion
1/3 C. thinly sliced celery
1/4 C. raisins
1 tsp. finely chopped, peeled fresh ginger
1 tsp. ground cumin
dash ground black pepper
1 Tbs. tamari soy sauce

Here is how you make Basmati Pilaf:

Combine rice, broth,butter and bay leaf in a medium saucepan with a tight-fitting lid. Bring to a boil, cover, reduce heat to low and simmer 50 minutes. Heat oil in a medium skillet over medium high heat. Add onion; cook 3 minutes. Add celery, raisins, ginger, cumin and pepper to taste. Cook 2 minutes.
