1 C Uncooked Wild Rice
1-10.5oz. Can Chicken Gumbo Soup
1 Can Sliced mushrooms, undrained
1/2 C Water
1 Bay Leaf
1 t. Salt
1/4 t Celery Salt
1/4 t Garlic Salt
Paprika
Black Pepper
1/4 t Onion Salt
3 T. Chopped Onions
3 T. Olive Oil
1 Lb. Lean Ground Beef


How Do I Make Best Wild Rice Casserole?

Here is how you make Best Wild Rice Casserole:

Pour boiling water over rice; cover and let stand 15 minutes. Drain; place in 3-qt. casserole. Add soup, mushrooms, water & seasonings. Mix gently; let stand a few minutes. Saute onion in oil until glossy; add to casserole. Add meat to oil remaining in pan; fry until brown & crumbly. Add to rice; cover. Bake @ 350 degrees for 1 hour and 15 minutes. NOTE: Mixture may be refrigerated and baked for 2 hours when needed.NOTE: I usually put in slow cooker and cook on high until it's done then reduce to low.NOTE: This recipe can be easily changed to diet by using reduced sodium chicken gumbo soup, frying the onions with the beef and omitting the oil and some people might want to use ground turkey instead of beef.
