Prepare the asparagus by washing and cutting off any ends the the asparagus that are thicker than 1/2 diameter (they tend to be tough.) Also cut down the asparagus into smaller lengths if needed to fit in your pan. Heat the oil in a pan on the stove top at medium or medium-low heat. Once the oil is warm, add the asparagus and all the ingredients. Cook only for about 5-6 minutes (until the asparagus is a deeper/brighter green) no longer a yellow shaded green.
