2.5 cups of whole wheat elbow macaroni
2tbsp Earth Balance (or other soy) margarine or olive oil
1/4 cup All Purpose Flour
1/4tbsp Turmeric
3 cups Plain, Low-fat (try to get Silk -- it has less sugar) Soy Milk
4 tbsp Nutritional Yeast (flakes preferable)
1 tsp Salt
1 tsp Pepper
1-4 slices of Whole wheat bread (crumble on top) Add more if you like the bread part more.
1 can of red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 tsp of yellow mustard (prepared) and/or 1 tsp of mustard (the ground seed)


How Do I Make Vegan Baked Macaroni and Cheez?

Here is how you make Vegan Baked Macaroni and Cheez:

Prepare macaroni noodles. Drain and rinse with cool water. Set aside.While the noodles are cooking, melt margarine in a large sauce pan over medium heat. As soon as the margarine is melted, add flour and turmeric and stir quickly until combined. Add soy milk, all at once, and stire with a wire wisk until no lumps remain. Continue stirring with a wooden spoon until thickened and bubbly. Cook for 1 minute more and then remove from heat. Add nutritional yeast, salt, pepper and wisk until smooth and creamy.Add cooked macaroni noodles to the sauce and mix well. Add beans and chili powder, if desired. Pour into a greased 8x8 inch square pan and top with bread crumbs. Bake for about 20 minutes and enjoy.You can also leave out the bread crumbs and eat as is without baking for a quicker version.Feeds 8-10. Try to limit servings as although it is extremely healthy, is also very filling and high energy. Serve with a delicious salad and enjoy.
