Here is how you make Best Homemade Black Bean Burgers:

Process the bread in a food processor until fine crumbs appear.Then toast the crumbs lightly in the oven until golden brown. Drain the beans and place in a large bowl. Mash beans with a fork until mostly mashed but leave some whole beans. Add the bread crumbs to the beans. Process the onion and jalapeno until just diced. Add these to the beans along with the flaxseed and chili powder.Mix until well combined. Form 6 patties. These will not shrink so make them to fit your bun. Cook in a pan or on a griddle for 3-4 minutes on each side over med-high heat or until a deep color forms. Reduce heat to medium and cover with another pan and cook another 2-3 minutes per side until heated through. It's fine if you don't cover them at the end, they just dry out a little bit more.
