Very easy, and so delish! This is actually adapted from a soup recipe I found on foodgawker; I loved the soup so much I turned the leftovers in a sauce for pasta the next day! What Are The Ingredients For Tomato and White Bean Pasta Recipe?The ingredients for Tomato and White Bean Pasta are: *Please note that these are just approximations, and can be changed.1 T EVOO 3 cloves garlic, minced 2 T buter 2-3 T whole wheat flour 3/4 c dry white wine 3/4 - 1 C 1% milk 1 can diced tomatoes 1 can cannellini beans, drained & rinsed *1 bay leaf, optional 1.5 C chicken broth 1 bay leaf 2-3 cups whole grain pasta *Optional: If you're serving non-vegetarians, or you just want to add in some protein, chicken or turkey sausage go great with this dish! How Do I Make Tomato and White Bean Pasta?Here is how you make Tomato and White Bean Pasta: *If you add the optional protein directly into the skillet, you'll extend the servings a bit. Heat the EVOO over medium-high heat in a deep skillet. (A big enough skillet makes this a 1 dish meal!!) Sautee the garlic in the oil until fragrant and slightly browned. Melt in the 2 T butter; sprinkle in the flour and whisk in with the butter; use just enough flour to form a paste. Slowly add the milk, whisking all the flour until incorporated; add the wine. Bring to a bubbling simmer and let simmer for several minutes, until the strong fragrance of alcohol is moslty gone and the mixture has thickened slightly. Add in tomatoes, beans, and bay leaf; bring to a simmer. Add in broth, and then raw pasta. Cover, and let simmer for about 3-4 minutes. Uncover, increase heat SLIGHTLY and allow to simmer until the mixture reaches desired consistency (you're basically just reducing everything down at this point.)
