Here is how you make Dhal Curry Homemade:

Rinse lentils. Put in pot with ginger, garlic, dried chilies, curry leaves, turmeric, 2c water. Boil, season with salt, reduce heat and simmer 20 minutes. Purée with immersion blender to desired consistency. Melt butter in a frying pan, toast mustard and cumin and onion, fry until onions slightly brown. Add jalapeños and tomatoes, cook 2-3 minutes.
