Whole grains cooked in unsalted water will taste flat. I always make a big batch. This keeps in the refrigerator for a week and freezes well. Add all ingredients to large pan and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 50 minutes or until you have desired tenderness, stirring occasionally. Drain and store.(I always double this recipe.)
