1/4 onion, chopped

Here is how you make Kimchi Fried Rice:

Put the oil, ginger, garlic, pepper in a pan. Heat it until it starts to sizzle and smell like garlic. Add the carrots and onions, cook until the onions are pretty much translucent or it looks like it will burn. Add the rice. Mix this together and add kimchi, soy sauce, and corn. Stir this up and turn the heat down if it's starting to burn.
