How Do I Make Mujedrah (rice and lentils)?Here is how you make Mujedrah (rice and lentils): Warm oil in skillet over medium heat.Add lentils and saut? briefly, then add brown rice and continue to saut? until coated and crackling a bit (two mins max).Stir in cumin, saut? another 30 seconds.Add chicken broth/water, stir and bring to a boil. Once boiling move heat to low, cover and let cook until tender and moisture has been absorbed - about 45 mins. Stir in frozen peas at end, if desired. :) Add ground pepper to taste.Add'l: you can also sweat some sliced onions on low-ish heat in a skillet simultaneously - slice thin and sprinkle with salt, stir occasionally. We usually do the onions but I love it w/o as well.
