Simple Protein Shake (Base)

This is an easy way to make a good-tasting protein base that you can add anything you like to. I usually have one of these before and/or after a workout or simply because I don't feel like eating but don't want to ruin my eating schedule. I usually add strawberries, Peaches, Mangoes, or whatever I have in the fridge/freezer to spruce it up. You can add some chocolate if you feel like cheating, or a bit of yogurt to make it thicker.

How Do I Make Simple Protein Shake (Base)?

Here is how you make Simple Protein Shake (Base):

Makes 1 serving (about 1.5 - 2 cups)1. Add all ingredients to blender. If you are using frozen fruit or ice, add that first so it's on the bottom.2. If you added anything frozen, pulse the blender on an ice setting about 6 or 7 times until the frozen ingredients are pulverished. Then, blend on a Smoothie or Milkshake setting. If you don't have those, use a blend then liquify settings, but quickly. Should take about 30 - 45 seconds total.3. Pour into a glass and garnish with fruit, if you wish, and enjoy!NOTE: This is much easier in a blender, especially if you will be using frozen or fresh fruit. If you don't have a blender or food processor, leave out the frozen ingredients, mash the banana, and stir everything together vigorously.Number of Servings: 1Recipe submitted by SparkPeople user ROMANNUMERALUS.
